Oh that reminds me. I need to check and see if any of the dealers near me have the Mazda 3 in yet. I want to test drive one.

The new Ranger doesn’t do anything for me. The powertrain seems great and best in class, but besides that, this seems like a last minute effort. A slightly warmed over international version, kinda like the Ecosport.
Maybe I’m being harsh, I probably should drive one too.

My local dealer has 4, including a manual FWD hatch. No AWD versions yet, looks like reviews are happening just this week.
I am not too interested in the car myself but it’s an excellent entry in the segment and about time they offered AWD.

Did you see when all the electronics went bonkers? Bad look for ford i would take a Zr2 over this.

Yup, actually it’s a good thing that happens on camera because Ford would get to the bottom of that and maybe a larger fix if other have reported similar issues . If I wanted nothing but reliability and off road performance I’d just go for a Tacoma.
I don’t care for the Zr2. More interested on the on-road performance of these trucks. Call me a “lifestyle buyer” who’ll use the be for the occasional moving and Home Depot/Lowes trip.

I saw one at the airport last night, also there was a ZR2 and I have to admit that they look nice. BIG though, bigger than I thought they would look.

So you saying you want a ridgeline?
![]() 03/20/2019 at 13:52 |

Maybe.

Do it.
The ridgeline is low-key awesome.

Did you see when a bunch of ZR2's popped their airbags after driving down dirt roads, c osting owners thousands of dollars and GM said it was all as designed and the owners were stuck with the bill? Yeah. Bad look for GM.

I definitely recommend driving one.
My impressions have been that it’s competitive, but not ground-breaking. It’s not as massively dominant the way the F-Series are for the most part. It feels constrained to use last/current gen parts and setup instead of pushing the envelope probably thanks to accountants.
That said, the revealed images of the supposed next-generation DO look futuristic and more focused on outclassing the segment, which is definitely a good thing. I hope that the rumors of this generation being truncated to only
2-3 model years is accurate because
the next generation needs to assert more
dominance in a very combative segment.
